A great stroll across 2 locations
Patrick won as he was curious and hungry for a good experience
Patrick went to Gdańsk for a weekend, did a research of the city, went prepared. We connected slightly before when he reacted on my invitation. Below in quotes are Patrick’s part of the story.
I connected with Alex randomly through a reddit post he made in the swedish subreddit, giving advice for travellers to Gdansk. The post was a bit eccentric/spontaneous and peaked my interest.

We started from the old town. Unsurprisingly, it’s a strong side of Gdańsk, a safe bet.
From the moment I met him, his calm and experinced manner, gave me a sense of trust and made me feel at ease. His knowledge of Polish and eastern european history, as well as their cultural aspects, became appearant as we walked through the beautiful scenery and architecture of old town Gdansk.

A short detour on the train to Oliwa provides us with new scenery, adding one experience on top of another. Again, it always works as a traveler wants a change of decorations during the day.

What I liked most was how he showed me around the hidden gems, less known spots, only a true local would know. Walking from Oliwski park, to the suburbs of Oliwa, showing local resturants, houses, and pubs.

It was a beautiful time nature-wise to visit Oliwa Park so got this benefit by default.
He managed to mix Interesting knowledge, trivia, and deep historical stories, with personal observations, and occasional jokes. Alex was a great host/guide and managed to capture the essence of tricity beautifully.

I’m grateful to Patrick for his openness and ability to trust a right stranger. I believe that he got richer on the way back to Stockholm.
P.S. There’s sooo much more in Tricity (Trójmiasto) so that Patrick can find more gems over the next 5-7 visits.
